Job Summary
Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for the position of Alumni Leadership Gift Officer. The Alumni Leadership Gift Officer is responsible for generating, managing, and executing strategies for pipeline development, donor retention, and donor upgrades for major gift and leadership level donors. The Gift Officer will manage a portfolio, coordinate and implement Homecoming sponsorship, and other event sponsorship as deemed necessary by senior leadership. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement, this position will work with Institutional Advancement Leadership to implement ongoing professional development opportunities and the Director of Alumni Relations to facilitate programs that focus on the life cycle of alumni by creating high-impact specialized workshops, seminars, and travel programs. Minimum Qualifications
A successful candidate will have excellent oral, written, and organizational skills as well as working knowledge of social media, computers, and automated equipment; proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Knowledge of Raisers Edge preferred. A bachelor’s degree, a minimum of two years of development experience, and previous alumni relations/fundraising experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A successful candidate will have excellent oral, written, and organizational skills as well as working knowledge of social media, computers, and automated equipment; proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Knowledge of Raisers Edge preferred. Schedule includes travel, as well as work on weekends and evenings. Ability to work well as a part of a team, follow oral and written instructions, prioritize work assignments, multi-task and maintain confidentiality. Valid driver’s license required.
Special Requirements Summary
Extended weekend, evening hours, and travel as required to support the success of Institutional Advancement, university events, and special projects. May require the use of personal transportation to carry out the aforementioned duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in the planning and execution of programs to cultivate and steward donors
Work with Associate Vice President to plan and implement professional development opportunities for colleagues and alumni
Create strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift and leadership donors
Provide timely updates using Blackbaud’s Raisers Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT platform
Serve in a key advisory and coordinator role to increase the alumni giving percentage and strengthen alumni giving retention rates
Collaborate with the annual fund manager to implement a strategy for increasing annual giving support
Coordinate the Homecoming sponsorship process including sponsor communication, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation.
Work closely with Corporations and Foundations on all alumni facilitated projects involving corporations and foundation solicitation and gifts.
Manage a portfolio of at least 100 alumni with major gift and leadership giving capacity
Coordinate and manage the alumni travel program to cultivate, steward, and foster friendly relations among Xavier alumni and friends.
Work in partnership with the Director of Alumni Relations to facilitate educational, professional, and life programming
Attend alumni/community events, meetings, and conferences to promote University goals and solicitations
