This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, within the Office of Research Services (R) in the Special Media Records Division, Moving Image and Sound Branch. The incumbent will perform a range of functions required for the acquisition, storage, maintenance, and access of NARA's archival holdings. This could include accessioning, processing, arranging, describing, digitizing, and preserving archival records and providing public services that support access.You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-09

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:Utilizing a wide range of systems or databases to search beyond readily accessible material to locate, analyze, index, and manage records;

ANDPerforming record maintenance and preservation in adherence with archival principles, procedures, and record keeping practices;

ANDProviding customer service and guidance with record research, reference, and/or access services.OR

Education:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree;

OR

2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related;OR

Combination:

You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the assessment questions.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-07

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:Performing record maintenance and preservation in adherence with archival principles, procedures, and record keeping practices;

ANDProviding customer service and guidance with record research and reference and access services.OR

Education:

1 full year of graduate level education

OR

superior academic achievement based on a Bachelor's degree that is demonstrated through class standing (upper 1/3 of class); grade point average (3.0/4.0 overall or 3.5/4.0 in major), or election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society;OR

Combination:

You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the assessment questions.In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following

time-in-grade requirement , if applicable

(as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F) :For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks.For the GS-7, you must have been at the GS-5 level for 52 weeks.
