This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), Textual Records Division, Reference Research Rooms and Augmented Processing Branch within Research Services under the Chief Operating Officer. As an archivist, the incumbent will carry out complex professional assignments involving reference, processing, description, and other related activities pertaining to textual holdings of the National Archives.You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-9 level,

you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:Researching and/or reporting on archival records;

ANDUtilizing various systems or databases to locate and/or analyze archival records;

ANDCollaborating on a team or project.OR2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree.ORYou may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.For the GS-07,

you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:Utilizing various systems or databases to locate archival records;

ANDPerforming archival functions, such as researching and/or managing documents;

ANDCommunicating with internal and external stakeholders on archival records.OR1 year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement.ORYou may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following

time-in-grade requirement , if applicable

(as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F) :For the GS-09, you must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks.For the GS-07, you must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks.
