Our work in HR directly supports teacher morale, engagement, and confidence.What You’ll Do:The following responsibilities will be prioritized based on the current needs of the business:Make a difference in employees’ lives by serving as the direct HR contact for employees across all schools.Commit to prioritizing employees by meeting their expectations and building effective relationships to gain their trust and respect.Proactively communicate with employees by articulating critical updates and ensuring compliance; respond to employees’ questions and concerns about HR matters.In conjunction with the VP of HR, create and revise company policies, handbooks, and standard operation procedures.The HR Business Partner assists the Human Resources department with the day-to-day tactical operations of the function:Payroll and Benefits Administration.Handle employee relations as related to corrective action, new hires, exit interviews, and terminations.Maintain employee personnel files to ensure legal compliance; prepare files for audits.Oversee and handle all LOAs, FMLA, and PFML for all schools.Deep knowledge of ADA, FSLA, and Federal Labor Laws.Oversee and manage Worker’s Compensation claims for all schools.Oversee and complete all Unemployment claims for all schools, working closely with each Director to ensure efficient fact-gathering and timely responses.Coordinate, roll out, and manage performance appraisal processes for employees.Assist in Company events and meetings.Conduct various surveys, including but not limited to the employee, exit, new hire, and pulse surveys.Support all annual audits. Examples include DPFML, Workers Comp, 401K, etc.Ensure compliance with all I-9s company-wide and that renewals are completed in a timely fashion.Support with benefits open enrollment activities for all schools.Will work with the platforms Paylocity, Lever, and various state systems.Support new school openings through both acquisition and greenfield growth.Responsible for supporting training development, i.e., anti-harassment.Provide support to the Vice President of Human Resources as needed.Maintain awareness of current trends in Human Resources through active reading, research, and participation in continuing education and ensure the VP of Human Resources is apprised promptly of all serious matters, trends, or observations.Other duties as assigned.Who You Are:Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.3 - 5+ years post-undergraduate relevant HR work experience.HRCI or PHR/SPHR certification is preferred.Extensive experience with Paylocity as both the payroll system and HRIS.Motivated, highly organized, and flexible; a self-starter with a teamwork orientation. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; writes clearly and informatively.Can identify and prioritize the most critical tasks, even if not the most urgent; can quickly sense what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal, eliminate the roadblocks, and create focus.Adapts to changes, delays, or unexpected events in the work environment and effectively manages competing demands while adjusting the approach to best fit the situation.Balances team and individual responsibilities and exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; gives and welcomes feedback and contributes to building a positive team spirit.Is reliable with attendance, can follow instructions, and responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions and does not blame others.How It Gets Done:Can work at least a full-time, 40-hour-a-week schedule, occasional off-hours as the business requires (i.e., evening training or travel).Can sit for long periods at a computer in a primarily sedentary position; manual dexterity is required to use a desktop computer and peripherals.Some travel (up to 15%) may be required to attend schools, events, meetings, or trainings.Magical Beginnings
