THE ROLE - TECHNICAL CONSULTANT (PLM)
Concurrent Engineering have a position available for a dynamic and driven PLM Technical Consultant. This exciting opportunity is to work for a PTC Platinum Partner and be part of a fast-growing business. Based in the Birmingham office with the flexibility to travel, this role will offer small, medium and large projects within multiple industry sectors in the UK and Ireland.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the PLM Technical Consultant supports the analysis and documentation of customer requirements and contributes to the design and delivery of the Concurrent
Engineering/Honeycomb
Solution(s). Executes assigned project tasks including the configuration design of the applications and solutions to ensure they meet client expectations, installing and configuring PTC and third-party software, GUI configuration, debugging, data migration, integration and interfacing to existing systems, deployment support, training delivery and documenting deliverables.
Participates, assists, or acts as the facilitator in workshops/work sessions internally and customer facing. Supports the efforts of domain specialists in developing the overall client solution. Peer reviews project team deliverables to ensure that they are accurate, consistent, and meet client requirements. Can clearly demonstrate an ability to work without immediate supervision.
Presents or facilitates training programs for PTC’s product lines in a manner that maximizes knowledge transfer and retention of acquired skills. Coaches and mentors training participants either in our training facility or on the customer site where required. Understands how training interventions fit within the business and assists in the evaluation of course content and structure. May occasionally be required to configure or customise the training collateral to suit the specific needs of the customer.
Provides customer technical support where assigned and required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Relevant degree qualified (or recognized equivalent) or one to three years’ experience in an Engineering Discipline or from an IT background
Strong Interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
Excellent English oral, written, communication and listening skills
Attention to detail
Perseverance with the willingness to learn
Customer Focused
The right to permanently work in the UK
A willingness to travel when required
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
Experience of or exposure to a PDM / PLM system e.g. PTC's Windchill either as an End User, Administrator or Implementer
Knowledge of server Operating Systems and associated utilities e.g. Windows Server, Red Hat Linux
Understanding of databases e.g. Oracle, MSQL
Understanding of infrastructure networks and security
A proven background in a customer facing role
Technical Support Desk experience
SALARY RANGE
£45,000 - £60,000 per annum, based on the applicant’s experience. Remuneration will progress in line with the applicant’s development.
