Join the adventure of a lifetime by becoming a teammate with Aerodyne Industries and work on projects that will define our future.Job DescriptionResponsible for capture management and proposal writing/management duties to include market research, new business opportunity identification, strategy development, teaming/negotiation with other businesses, organizational design, key personnel identification, bid/no bid evaluation, proposal content development, pricing strategy and rate development, leading in-process reviews, and production.

Responsible for managing the new business opportunity identification process, knowledge management repository, and responding to internal/external data and past performance inquiries.

Must meet strict deadlines, ensure accuracy of information, and protect sensitive and company confidential information.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related discipline; a minimum of 15 years of experience performing both proposal management, capture management, and pricing duties as described below; and a demonstrated track record of new business capture/proposal success for contracts valued greater than $50M.

Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, public speaking, interviewing, management, and desktop publishing skills are required.

Position requires extensive knowledge of the Government procurement process as applied within the aerospace and defense market sector.

Must be a self-starter who is well-organized, flexible, pays strict attention to detail, and performs well under pressure in a fast paced environment.

Travel is required.

Work may be required after hours and on weekends, and sometimes on short notice.

Primary work location is negotiable based upon the applicant’s demonstrated experience and capability of working in an autonomous environment.

Duties/ResponsibilitiesServe as capture manager and/or proposal manager with responsibility for opportunity pursuit strategy development and execution as well as proposal preparation, submittal, and post-award support to ensure a successful contract start-up/transitionGenerate and foster positive customer relationshipsBuild a solid understanding of corporate qualifications, markets, clients, partners, competitors, and industry best practices to support strategy development and the preparation of sales materialsRecommend strategic hires and company acquisitions when appropriate in support of business growth strategiesIdentify and evaluate key personnel for proposal effortsIndependently lead the preparation of proposals of all sizes, sources sought requests, requests for information, and other customer-facing documents while working directly with executive leadership, technical staff, teaming partners, and consultantsWith no supervision, coordinate, write, edit/tailor, and perform research for both technical and non-technical proposal sections; ensure compliance; proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate potential issues/variancesCreate, maintain, and apply best practice management tools (e.g., proposal scheduling, workload analysis, win statistics, proposal resource library management, other tools/techniques) to add quality, speed, and efficiency in the development of our work productsMaintain current knowledge of the competitive environment and strategic pricing strategies (e.g. price-to-win) in order to perform business case analyses and brief the executive leadership team on findings, risks, and assumptionsLead cost analysis and estimate preparation for complex proposal submissions and ensures compliance with company policies, FAR, CAS, and solicitation requirementsDevelop cost models, prepare basis of estimate and proposal cost/price volume submissions, help maintain our parametric estimate database, and interface with DCAA auditors regarding our cost/price submissionsExperience establishing, defending, and maintaining an approved estimating system, property management system, and purchasing system as described in DFARS 252.242-7005 Contractor Business Systems is highly desiredCoach, mentor, and/or supervise other business development staffPerform other duties as required

Job Requirements:

Required Skills/AbilitiesProficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is required.

Proficient use of specialized graphical design applications a plusExcellent leader with an attention to detail and the ability to secure resources (e.g., people, material, new tools/applications, support), solve problems, and work collaboratively with a team in a dynamic environmentAbility to handle multiple, simultaneous projects and work in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlinesMust have understanding of the Government acquisition process (to include a working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, NASA FAR Supplement, and various FAR Supplements), contract principles and procedures, and experience with various types of contracts/subcontracts including FFP, FPIF, T&M, Labor Hour, Cost Reimbursement, IDIQ, and BPAExcellent oral and written communication skills in English, including proficiency in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.

Able to communicate effectively with staff and customers at all levels of the organization and manage external customer and stakeholder relationships effectivelyDemonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts in easy to read and compelling text
