POSITION SUMMARY:
The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for program operations at the Kewanee YMCA. Incumbent will have full knowledge of organization, delivery, and overall quality of the aquatics programs offered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Recruits, trains, and develops appropriate staff and volunteers, currently including lifeguards, water exercise instructors, and swim lesson instructors. Interprets YMCA policies and procedures to all staff and volunteers in a positive manner. Ensure all complete appropriate training and certifications.Ensures all programs have adequate staffing and supervision.Promotes and incorporates the YMCA mission and four core values in all appropriate aquatics programs and events.Monitors, evaluates, and tracks the effectiveness of and participation in all appropriate aquatics programs. Responds to all members, participants, and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.Assist in establishing new program activities and expands programs in accordance with the YMCA's strategic plans and community needs.Maintaining an acceptable level of physical fitness as necessary to maintain aquatic certifications.Continued professional development as recommended by the YMCA of the USA and supervisor.LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of program experience with direct supervision of staffAbility to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Oral and written multilingual abilities preferred.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members and non- members of the YMCA or members of the business community.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
