POSITION SUMMARY:

The Aquatics Coordinator works closely with the Aquatics Director to provide safe, engaging programs. There is a strong commitment to safety, as well as to creating innovative aquatic programs. The best candidate will have current lifeguard certifications and a willingness to be trained in YMCA swim lesson instruction. This position is a hands-on job with most hours spent lifeguarding and performing administrative tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Develop and coordinate pool and staff schedules.Acts as a replacement or find replacements for schedule gaps for LifeguardsAssist with registration process.Obtain and maintain program supply inventory and disburse to instructors.Ensure staff have their certifications, tracking and maintaining the certifications for auditComplete administrative tasksgathering data, completing paperwork, filingAttend all staff meetingsAssist with tracking of certificationsOther duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisorPHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.Ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills.Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push, and pull.Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 poundsQUALIFICATIONS:

1 year of administrative experience1 year of lifeguard experienceLifeguard CertificationGreat organizational skillsExcellent computer skillsAbility to interact with staff, participants, and parentsCurrently certified in CPR/AED and first aid, or be certified within 30 days of hire.Experience working in multi-cultural communities is preferred.

SALARY: $25.00-$26.00
