Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our National Key Account Management team is looking for a new National Sales Business Development Manager to help lead our Sales team.YOUR ROLEAs the National Sales Business Development Manager, you will lead the National Key Account Management team with a focus on expanding business development initiatives across the United States. Your core responsibility will be driving new customer acquisition while fostering the growth and development of a team of account managers. Through strategic leadership, you will cultivate long-term partnerships and drive account growth within the Global Accounts (GA) sales channel.You will collaborate closely with the National Vertical (NV) team and the sales performance group to align on business strategies, set growth objectives, and monitor progress. Your ability to identify emerging market trends and customer needs will position the team to capitalize on new business opportunities, ensuring agile and effective responses to changing market dynamics.Reporting directly to the National Head of Sales in the United States, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's future by steering business development efforts, supporting team growth, and driving sustainable success.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESOversee the network of sales resources focused on Strategic Customer initiatives, with an emphasis on developing new brands and national accounts.Assess and allocate necessary resources within Kuehne+Nagel to maximize value creation across all verticals and business units.Translate global and regional strategies into actionable plans and co-coach staff to ensure clarity and execution.Lead whiteboard sessions, training, and workshops for direct reports and customers, partnering with the supply chain design team as needed.Assist the National Vertical (NV) in building and maintaining strategic relationships with key customer contacts to identify opportunities for Kuehne+Nagel.Support the NV on special projects and initiatives.Report on Strategic Customer development to the NV at agreed intervals.Direct the KAM team to maintain required training and ensure compliance with certification standards.Lead with integrity, adhering to Kuehne+Nagel's Code of Conduct and ethical business practices.YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCESEducation: Bachelor's degree required.Experience Level: Senior-level position with 7+ years of professional experience.Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years in freight forwarding or supply chain management, with a preference for internal Kuehne+Nagel candidates.Key Account Management: Proven experience managing key accounts with international firms.Language: Proficiency in English required.GOOD REASON TO JOINAt Kuehne+Nagel we strive daily to inspire, empower, and deliver not only to our customers, but also to our colleagues. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
