Steel FabricatorA Steel Fabrication Laborer is responsible for supporting various tasks in the steel fabrication process to create steel structures and products, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and in compliance with safety and quality standards.ResponsibilitiesMaterial Handling: Safely handle and transport steel materials, including loading and unloading steel components, using equipment such as forklifts or cranes when necessary.Cutting and Shaping: Use cutting tools and machinery to trim, cut, and shape steel materials according to project specifications, ensuring accuracy in measurements and cutting.Welding Support: Assist welders by preparing steel components for welding, cleaning and grinding welds, and ensuring proper alignment and positioning of materials.Assembly: Collaborate with the fabrication team to assemble steel components, following blueprints, design plans, and instructions for welding, bolting, or fastening parts together.Quality Control: Inspect steel components for defects, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards, making necessary adjustments or reporting issues to supervisors.Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure they are in proper working order and report any malfunctions or repair needs.Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of scrap materials and waste responsibly.Communication: Effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to understand project requirements and coordinate tasks as needed.Qualifications and SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials.Knowledge of basic steel fabrication techniques and equipment.Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing setting.Basic math skills to measure and cut steel components accurately.Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.The ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.Willingness to learn and adapt to different projects and tasks.Prior experience in steel fabrication or a related field is a plus but not always required.Benefits/CompensationFull TimePay rate is $12.50 per hour1st Shift: 6:30 AM-3:00 PMWeekly pay while employed through Career ConceptsBenefits available while employed through Career ConceptsTemp-To-HireBenefits after probation.LocationFranklin, PAAbout Career Concepts Staffing Services, Inc.Career Concepts is the leading locally owned staffing company in Western Pennsylvania and New York, dedicated to connecting top-tier talent with exceptional opportunities.
