is currently seeking a
Neurosurgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for Weekend coverage.

JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Advanced practice provider performing a complete and accurate history and physical, consultation note or daily progress note according to established protocols.
Working in OR with Residents, assisting with surgeries and performing procedures
Hospital rounding conducting progress notes according to established protocols.
Follow up on OR patients, calling consults, obtaining consents, adjusting drains, removing drains, scheduling imaging and testing
Clinic assignment 2 days per week seeing in excess of 30 patients per day. Hospital rounding on assigned patients and providing follow-up care in clinic.
8 hour day shifts. 10 hour shift schedule may be considered
MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Medical and patient care equipment; CRT and related equipment; ventilators; arterial lines; central venous lines for infusions or dialysis; chest tubes; VAC dressings; surgical drains
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program; Master's preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of Surgery / First Assist experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner preferred.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION:
Active unencumbered Tennessee Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (or registry eligible required). Eligible for Certificate of Fitness (Prescriptive privileges) in State of Tennessee required. AHA BLS, ACLS required. ATCN, ATLS strongly recommended.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Constant walking, standing; lifting and positioning patients/equipment; exposure to infectious agents. Visual acuity is needed to access color changes. Night, weekend and holiday coverage of inpatient census. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move patients and/ or equipment.
