Enforce WVUH policies and procedures to provide a safe, secure environment, in support of the WVUH Security Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid Driver's License - Must be maintained during employment period.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:
1. Prior experience in the Security field.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Directs and supervises traffic control.
2. Assists Nursing Staff as requested by Chief Security Officer.
3. Participates in patient safety training and patient protection, including the needs and methods to report medical/healthcare errors and/or abuse.
4. Locks all exit doors and rechecks as rounds of Hospital are made.
5. Checks all windows and doors to insure they are properly locked.
6. Patrols parking areas to be sure cars are properly parked to prevent vandalism, and to keep children from playing in and around cars.
7. Tours of hospital buildings and construction areas will be made and documented as designated to prevent theft, guard against vandalism, equipment malfunctions, and to guard against fire.
8. Knowledgeable concerning kind, location, and use of firefighting equipment available in Hospital and auxiliary buildings.

1. Ability to sit, stand and walk for the entire shift and/or double shift.
2. Ability to lift, push or pull 50 pounds.
3. Ability to tolerate adverse environmental conditions for entire shift and/or double shift.
