Performs a variety of duties to provide assistance and information to all visitors, vendors, staff, and other tenants assigned to the WVU Innovation Corporation site. Enforce policies and procedures to provide a safe, secure environment, in support of the Security Program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Valid Driver's License - Must be maintained during employment period.
2. Obtain certification in HeartSaver First Aid within 60 days of hire date.
3. Successfully pass WV DHHR Protected Services Record Check and WV CARES fingerprint-based criminal background check.
4. High School Diploma

1. Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or the Security field
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Initiates positive customer service interaction and provides appropriate assistance to visitors, vendors, staff, and other tenants assigned to the WVU Innovation Corporation (WVUIC) site.
2. Maintains consistent visibility and presence at assigned locations to provide an information and directional resource for all visitors, vendors, staff, and other tenants assigned to the WVUIC site.
3. Responds to all visitor, vendor, staff, and other tenants assigned to the WVUIC site with requests for information/assistance in a courteous manner.
4. Monitors and maintains traffic flow at the WVUIC site for all parking lots/garages and roadways.
5. Protects people and property by assisting in the prevention of accidents, theft and vandalism, in accordance with company policies and procedures, as monitored by supervision.
6. Maintains consistent presence and visibility by performing routine building rounds, building door unlocks, exterior building and parking lot patrols.
7. Monitors all facilities on the WVUIC site for any major leaks of fluid, air leaks, equipment alarms, or other major facility issues and immediately notifies Maintenance employees according to company policy and procedures.
8. Reports suspicious situations, circumstances, incidents and persons, according to company policy and procedures.
9. Responds and aids visitors, vendors, staff, and other tenants assigned to the WVUIC site during fire and disaster drills, animal control issues, and lost/found issues, according to company policy and procedures.
10. Provides written documentation of activities, incidents, premises safety issues, accidents, theft, vandalism, and other data requested by supervision in a factual, objective, and legible manner.
11. Responds to and provides assistance to visitors, vendors, staff, and other tenants assigned to the WVUIC site during emergency situations such as; assaults, domestic disputes, fire, vandalism, bomb threats, theft, vehicle accidents, disasters, etc.
12. Operates company-owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, 100% of the time.
13. Ensures safety and proper operating condition of vehicles by performing vehicle inspections, as outlined by departmental policy.
14. Monitors and controls the access of visitors, vendors, staff, and other tenants assigned to the WVUIC site according to company policy and entry control procedures.
15. Verifies, monitors, and tracks all visitors and vendors entering/departing the WVUIC site according to company policy and entry control procedures.
16. Monitor the WVUIC's Access Control and Closed-Circuit Television Systems
17. Other requirements: Incident Reporting, Routine Building Rounds, Incident Investigation, Crowd Control, Disaster Response, Domestic Disputes, Parking Enforcement, Consistence Presence and Visibility, Media Issues, Victim Assistance, Engages in Traffic Direction, Policy Enforcement, Investigation of Alarms, Duress, etc., Tire Changing, Battery Jumps, Parking Rounds, Effective Radio Communication, Escorts visitors/staff, gives accurate directions to customers, Loss Prevention, Transport equipment/staff/visitors, post assignments for exterior patrols, perform other duties as assigned.

2. Ability to lift, push or pull 80 pounds.
3. Ability to tolerate adverse environmental conditions for entire shift and/or double shift.
4. Evaluation by Occupational Medicine required upon hire or transfer to ensure medical fitness. Periodic evaluation after hire required. Any significant changes in health-status must be reported.
