Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with maintaining accounting books and records including recording and monitoring cash activity, assisting with preparing and distributing DocuSign documents, maintaining certain reconciliations, assisting with monthly and quarterly close accounting process and special projects as assigned by Trust Accounting management.
Essential FunctionsPerform duties related to maintaining books and records of Trust entities including recording cash and accrual transaction journal entries, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare waterfall calculation to support distribution entriesRecord loan activity in Loan Subledger and assist with monthly loan and interest reconciliationsAssist with recording and reviewing capital activity related to underlying alternative investments in Investment Subledger and General LedgerPrepare monthly reconciliation of intercompany reimbursable items between Corporate, Trust, and Special Purpose VehiclesAssist with monthly and quarterly closing reconciliations and assist with audit requestsAssist with capital activity communication, documentation via Docusign and recording for Trust AccountingAssist with special projects as they arise.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Understanding of the quarterly accounting cycle.Familiarity with accounting systems.Strong Excel skills required.Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other departments and third parties.Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast paced environment while handling multiplepriorities.
Ability to prioritize deliverables and meet demanding deadlines.Self-starter with ability to work well within a team or individually.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with four or more years of relevant work experience.
CPA and experience in the financial services industry preferred. Loan or private equity accounting a plus.
