YesDescription of WorkThe vision of the Department of Food Science and Technology is to be a global leader in advancing trans-disciplinary approaches for safe, sustainable, and healthy foods through innovative research, teaching, and outreach.

As the Administrative Coordinator, you will:

Provide advanced and complex administrative and support for the department head.Coordinate complex scheduling/meetings involving multiple calendars.Attend meetings and record minutes of faculty meetings and similar activities led by the department head.Prepare reports, letters, and other documents.Oversee the submission of annual faculty evaluations and promotion and tenure files to the department head and chair of the promotion and tenure committee, and prepare documentation of these for submission to the next level of administration.Coordinate interview schedules and travel arrangements for academic and staff position search candidates.Compile information and respond to reporting requests from all levels of the university.Supervise office support staff including the coordination of staff support during transitions or absences of staff and facilitating training of new staff and other personnel as needed.The Food Innovation Center is located on Nebraska Innovation Campus, which features a conference center, the Scarlet Hotel, and the Mill Coffee & Bistro.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field plus two years of experience providing administrative support;

ORAssociate degree in business or related field plus four years of experience providing administrative support. Additional years of relevant experience or education may substitute on a year-for-year basis.Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex scheduling scenarios with individuals or groups outside the unit essential.Requires excellent knowledge of computer software, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet, and email with calendar functions.

Preferred QualificationsThe following qualifications are preferred, but not required.

Supervisory experience.Experience providing administrative support directly to a unit head.Experience handling foreign travel arrangements and expense reports for others.Knowledge of UNL .
