We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Director to lead our Appeals, Legal Services, and Disclosure division. This pivotal role involves overseeing the performance and development of division operations, ensuring the delivery of timely and high-quality services that support our agency’s tax administration, policy development, and compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and Innovate: Direct the operations and services of the Appeals, Legal Services, and Disclosure division.

Team Leadership: Inspire and manage a talented team of attorneys, appeals officers, and disclosure staff.

Strategic Coordination: Partner with the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel to steer the Department’s legal advice and litigation strategies.

Expert Legal Guidance: Provide insightful legal advice to the Department on a wide array of complex tax issues.

Appeals Oversight: Spearhead the agency’s major administrative appeals processes, ensuring equity and efficiency.

Disclosure Management: Oversee the agency’s disclosure and records management functions, maintaining transparency and compliance.

Collaborative Implementation: Work closely with Department staff to implement policies and practices that drive success.

Mentorship and Development: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate your team, fostering professional growth and excellence.

Training Leadership: Develop and manage comprehensive legal training programs for Department staff on diverse topics.

Regulatory Oversight: Lead the Department’s rulemaking and revenue notice activities, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Special Projects: Coordinate and complete impactful special projects as assigned by the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel.

Litigation Coordination: Collaborate with the Attorney General’s Office and Deputy General Counsel on legal disputes and litigation.

Leadership Continuity: Step into the roles of General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel when needed, ensuring seamless leadership.
