We are seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director of Retention Marketing to drive our customer engagement and loyalty initiatives. This role will focus on developing and executing retention strategies that enhance customer lifetime value and foster brand loyalty. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of customer behavior, data analytics, and marketing best practices.How You’ll Do It:
Strategic Development:
Create and refine comprehensive retention marketing strategies that align with overall business objectives. This involves conducting competitive analysis, identifying target segments, and developing tailored initiatives to engage existing customers. You’ll also be responsible for setting long-term retention goals and defining clear pathways to achieve them.Data Analysis:
Leverage customer data and analytics to gain insights into customer behavior and preferences. This includes segmenting customer databases, analyzing churn rates, and identifying the factors influencing customer loyalty. You will utilize these insights to inform campaign strategies and ensure marketing efforts are data-driven and targeted.Campaign Management:
Lead the end-to-end management of retention campaigns, from ideation to execution. This encompasses developing briefs, coordinating with design and content teams, setting timelines, and monitoring performance. You will also be responsible for A/B testing and optimization to maximize engagement and conversion rates across various channels, including email, SMS, and loyalty programs.Performance Measurement:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success of retention marketing initiatives. Examples: CRR, CLV, CHURN, Repeat Purchase Rate, NPS, Time Between Purchases, Customer Segmentation Metrics, Cross-Category Adoption etc. You will regularly present findings to senior leadership and recommend strategic adjustments based on data insights.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with other departments such as product management and customer service to ensure a cohesive approach to customer retention. This includes sharing insights from retention campaigns that could inform product development and sales strategies, as well as working with customer service teams to enhance the customer experience.Budget Management:
Develop and oversee the retention marketing budget, ensuring all expenditures align with strategic priorities. This includes forecasting costs, tracking expenditures, and analyzing the return on investment (ROI) for each campaign. You will be expected to make data-driven recommendations for budget adjustments to maximize effectiveness.Team Leadership:
Mentor and guide a team of retention marketing professionals, fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration. This involves providing ongoing feedback, facilitating professional development opportunities, and encouraging innovation. You will also be responsible for setting team OKRs, ensuring alignment with broader company goals.What You Need to Succeed:
5-8 years of experience in retention marketing, customer lifecycle management, or a related field, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful retention strategies.Strong proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM systems) to drive decision-making.Familiarity with marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo), email marketing platforms, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for email design can be advantageous.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Experience in cross-functional collaboration is essential.Experience in the consumer packaged goods sector, with a solid understanding of the unique challenges and strategies involved in retaining customers in this industry.Previous experience working in a startup or high-growth environment is preferred, demonstrating adaptability, agility, and the ability to thrive in dynamic settings with limited resources.Ability to work flexible hours during peak periods (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, etc.)Why BRUNT?
