Job Description
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Residential Camp, the
Community Engagement and Registrar Director
will support YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake residential and day camp programs to develop and achieve camp and association goals.
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old.
Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
Must have a thorough understanding of Camp operations, program quality and delivery.
Must be able to meet deadlines and manage interruptions and handle requests efficiently and have strong computer proficiency.
Must be able to work a varied schedule, to include evenings and weekends.
At least 2 years’ experience working within a camp or non-profit environment
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
Must have a thorough understanding of camp operations, program quality and delivery.
Cleared to drive YMCA vehicles with a clean MVR.
Essential Functions
Guides parents and campers through medical paperwork, ensuring state licensing compliance is met prior to arrival to camp.
Tracks and monitors registration for camp and answer general questions from participants for an overall seamless camp experience, ensure every camper bed is filled.
Supports the Resident Camp Director and Day Camp Director in the to recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising all seasonal camp staff positions.
Assists with Colorado State licensing and inspections, ACA preparation and visitation.
Find and attend events catered to summer camp marketing in order to fill camp to capacity.
Reviews and evaluates the enrollment, programs, services, and operations of YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake and communicates findings to the Executive Director, Board, Branch Council, and committees, as required.
Works with the Marketing Department to ensure each bed is filled at camp and completes dashboards for staff hiring to ensure camp is over hired for each summer.
Represents YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake as a liaison between parents and the director team, with a focus on great customer service and easing the registration process for participants.
Works with the Marketing Department and the Resident Camp Director and Day Camp Director to oversee facility signage, the development of program brochures, flyers and bulletin boards that meet branch and Association standards and complement the facility.
Stays up-to-day and well informed on industry standards and trends through self-study, professional development and conference opportunities and research or workshop participation.
Incorporates the mission, philosophy, and core values of the YMCA in all communication with participants and co-workers.
Supports association-wide youth development programs and initiatives, as assigned based on the time of year and needs of the association.
Maintains an open, friendly, professional relationship with staff, parents, participants, and the community.
Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to camper and parent paperwork. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures always followed.
Maintains regular and timely communications with supervisor, other Y employees, parents, and families of teen participants.
Works cooperatively with other YMCA departments and camp leadership, and YESS to build and market programs.
Provides staff leadership for annual fundraising campaign and committees as assigned.
Participates in all staff meetings, planning groups, association related meetings, and other required association events.
Drives program participants as needed for events or arranges for YMCA approved driver as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
