Position Summary

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for preparing, reporting, and other analyses which require the understanding of GAAP and financial statements. Additionally, the individual will lead the monthly close process, ensuring that all entries are recorded timely and accurately.

Position Duties and ResponsibilitiesClose Process:

Lead the monthly financial close process, including preparation of Financial and Management reporting packages in compliance with US GAAP. Provide variance analysis to prior year and/or budget. Close the period timely.Document close process. Create and maintain checklist of standard and nonstandard journal entries and accruals needed

Journal Entries:

Ensure accurate and timely completion of higher risk journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, cash reconciliations, flux analysis, and monthly/quarterly/annual reports,Perform and review account reconciliations; identify unusual and unexpected items and follow up as appropriatePrepare and post journal entries with proper supporting documentation.

Financial Analysis:

Participate in analysis regarding the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and key financial and business metrics; tie together financial information, underlying business drivers, and the macroeconomic environmentResearch and provide recommendations for cost saving measures

Other:

Assisting with internal and external audits as neededAssist with the preparation of the annual operating budgetOther duties as assigned

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

At least 5+ years of relevant accounting experiencePrevious experience leading month-end closeKnowledge of US GAAPCPA certification is a plusStrong computer skills and attention to detailERP accounting software experience preferredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office and Accounting principlesExcellent research and organizational skillsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingSelf-motivated with the ability to work with a moderate degree of independenceSupervisory Responsibility
