A law firm based in Boston, MA, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Patent Agent to join its patent counseling and prosecution practice. The ideal candidate will have substantive industry experience, a strong technical background, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.Duties:Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analysesAnalyze patent and scientific papers and documents to assist patent attorneys with prosecution, counseling, and litigationDraft patent applications and responses to office actionsRequirements:1 year of law firm experienceSubstantive industry experience in chemical engineering, material science, mechanical engineering, or biomedical engineeringRegistration as a US patent agent or eligibility to sit for the USPTO registration examEducation:Degree in material, chemical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering (or a related field)An advanced degree is a plusCertifications:Registered US patent agent or eligible for registrationSkills:Superb technical, written, and verbal communication skills in EnglishBroad scientific knowledge in mechanical engineering and/or biomedical engineeringInitiative and a fast learnerAbility to work well with othersJob Location:
