The post-doctoral fellow will conduct cutting-edge research in microbiology/molecular biology/genetics and work closely with chemical biologists. The research project may involve culturing bacterial/yeast/mammalian cells, application of modern genetic tools, in vivo and in vitro models, and expression and purification of proteins, nucleic acids, and biophysical/biochemical/structural analysis, as well as protein-ligand interactions.ResponsibilitiesSubject knowledge and oral/written communication skills to discuss and document research progress.Ability to work independently, accurately, and to problem-solve technical and methodological issues that arise during the course of the research.Ability to apply sound research techniques, methodology, and logical critical analysis.Strong organization and interpersonal skills.Minimum QualificationsRecent PhD in Molecular Biology/Genetics/Physiology/BiochemistryMinimum of 3 first author publicationsThis position may require the successful completion of a criminal background check and/or drug screen.The University of Utah values candidates who have experience working in settings with students and patients from all backgrounds and possess a strong commitment to improving access to higher education and quality healthcare for historically underrepresented students and patients.All qualified individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
