Evergreen North America is a leading provider of environmental and industrial cleaning solutions to the downstream and midstream energy sectors. We are leaders in each of our respective service lines, including Vapor Control, Chemical Cleaning, Tank Cleaning, Water Treatment, Vacuum Services, Hydroblasting, Hydroexcavation, and Industrial Logistics & Transportation. We currently have an opening for Safety Manager.

The Branch Safety Manager is responsible for managing safety programs and enforcing all safety rules and procedures set forth by Evergreen North America / GEM and the plants that are worked in. This includes ensuring OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, and State DEQ safety compliance requirements for assigned locations.

Key responsibilities include:

Performing job safety observations (JSO) and audits, reporting and helping resolve safety infractions and deficiencies.

Displaying leadership in safety, training, employee motivation, and development.

Developing continuous improvement strategies for safety meetings and efficiency improvement.

Maintaining positive working relationships with customers and facilitating the implementation of OHSHA VPP elements.

Working with corporate, regional, and branch management to ensure proper communication of safety and training issues.

Assisting in the interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees, and ensuring ongoing training of all employees as required.

Summary of the Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs job safety observations and audits and enters data into the safety management system.

Conducts safety meetings and enters results into the safety management system.

Participates in special training meetings and safety training updates.

Investigates and resolves near misses and accidents.

Ensures all training and employee records are current according to corporate guidelines.

Gathers, analyzes, and communicates job safety observation results.

Completes and reports quarterly hose testing.

Consults with account managers and field supervisors on safe work practices.

Maintains SDS's for chemicals used at assigned locations.

Conducts compliance audits for safety standards.

Creates PowerPoint slides with monthly safety statistics for meetings.

Participates in plant contractor safety meetings and audits.

Develops and maintains positive working relationships with plant safety personnel.

Gathers contractor qualification information as required.

Engages with key client organizations regarding safety policies.

Willing to work flexible hours and take calls after hours for emergencies.

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Pass medical exam and drug test.

Able to climb ladders and stairs as needed.

Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational:

Degree in Occupational Health and Safety and/or 5 years experience with a safety certification.

Work Experience:

5 years of supervisory experience in Industrial Cleaning, Chemical, Refining, Paper, or Power industry.

Basic understanding of Federal, State, and Local OSHA & DOT rules and regulations.
