Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Part-Time Mandarin Teacher to join our brand new, personalized, after-school Mandarin support teaching team! You will coach the students for their weekly Mandarin homework packet. And when they’re done with their homework, you can help them prep for their weekly vocab. words quizzes.
Responsibilities:
Manage and facilitate students’ learning in a small class setting (teacher/student ratio is 1:3 to 1:4)
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to help students with Chinese character recognition and retention
Maintain positive relationships and a growth mindset with students and parents
Document and provide weekly feedback with solid examples to parents and student
Maintain the health and safety of all students
Qualifications:
Native Mandarin speakers from China, Taiwan or Hong Kong
Previous experience in Mandarin immersion teaching preferable
Knowledge of and familiarity with both traditional and simplified Chinese characters
Strong classroom management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Positive attitude toward fostering student growth and creating an engaging learning environment.
