Nestled in the heart of Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, CA, our school fosters a nurturing environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.Summary of PositionThe ideal candidate would hold a bachelor’s degree in Mandarin or related field of teaching and have demonstrated leadership or other professional skills. We prefer someone who is familiar with Waldorf educational methods of a developmental approach to young students and to bringing world languages to elementary students. This individual will be ready to cultivate a creative and engaging learning environment for students in the broad Waldorf language curriculum and work collaboratively with the Grades 1-8 teachers. While working with students at all levels of Mandarin linguistic talent, this individual should be able to display a strong focus in an immersive approach through songs, circles and the arts to teaching in which students are actively developing the skills to express themselves in Mandarin.Education / CertificationsPrevious experience working in a collaborative setting with Grades 1-8 teachersBachelor’s degree in Mandarin or related field of teachingDemonstrated leadership or other professional skillsWaldorf Teaching experience preferredPediatric CPR/First Aid certificationCurrent TB clearanceWestside Waldorf School ExpectationsUnderstanding and embracing of Waldorf pedagogyExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written – detailed, clear and conciseCommitment to a collaborative work environmentWillingness to embrace continuous improvement and professional growthOrganizational and time management skillsHow to Apply: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and three professional references to Employment@wswaldorf.org .
