The Center for Climatic Research, part of the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, seeks a Data Scientist. The role involves developing, maintaining, and training users on the Neotoma Paleoecology Database software ecosystem. Neotoma is an international resource for paleoecological and other geoscientific data, essential for the global change community. This role supports a diverse scientific user community.In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

Prepare data sets for analysis, including cleaning and integrating multiple data sourcesImplement data science techniques under guidance to identify data patterns and answer research questionsOrganize and automate project steps for data preparation and analysisCreate reproducible workflows and reports to present patterns to researchersDocument approaches to research questionsProvide user support and track user-reported issuesPrepare bilingual training materials for workshopsThis role comes with the following benefits:
