The City of Piqua is seeking a Community Development Manager who will perform complex professional work researching, administering, and applying for grant funds and other special projects. Within the Community Services Department, this manager level position will:Manage programs including CDBG, State / Federal Programs, City Grant Programs, and others;With support, write grants, advocate for projects, and plan project timelines;Communicate with public and private funders to ensure adherence to program rules and regulations;Create and administer community engagement programs;Support long-range planning efforts of the City.Qualifications:Knowledge of:
Economic development, community planning, revitalization and redevelopment, and project management principles and practices; Programs, materials, activities, grants, studies and reports; Dealing with the public; Grant management; Marketing and public relations; Community resources and services; Government structure and process.Comprehensive knowledge of business and economic development financing; considerable knowledge of various marketing techniques; Familiarity of state and local economic development incentives.Skill in:
Public relations; Community and Economic Development; Written and oral presentations; Working diplomatically with community, citizen groups, developers and business owners to achieve overall goals and objectives.License Requirements:
Valid driver’s license in the State of Ohio.Education:
Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, or related field and five (5) years of experience in economic development, community development, development project management, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Position Type:
Full Time - Reports to Community Services DirectorWage Rate:
