Duties:Teach a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate mining courses ranging from introduction to mining to advanced mine design. Development of a research program is expected. Responsibilities also include student advising, recruiting, service, and industry relations.
Required Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Mining Engineering or related Engineering discipline by position start date or MS degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior college teaching experience
Relevant work experience in the mining or related industries
Excellence in written/oral communication skills
MSHA approved instructor or the ability to become one
Have a P.E. license, or ability to obtain a Montana P.E. license within three years of hire
Physical Demands:
An ability to carry 30# up a flight of stairs
