Kettering High SchoolMinimum Qualifications:Valid State of Michigan teaching certificateMichigan School Administrators certificate or be enrolled in a program leading to certification as a school administrator not later than 6 months after employment leading to completion of the program within three yearsMaster’s Degree preferably in Educational Leadership, School Administration or CurriculumThree years of successful administrative experience preferredMinimum of five years of successful secondary teaching experienceDemonstrated collaborative leadership experience in instruction and curriculumCurrent professional development in best practices in teaching and learningSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptableStrong background in instructional leadershipPersonal commitment to academic excellence with student achievement as a priority goalLeadership experience working with diverse populations and special needs studentsSkilled in leading school improvement and applying data to initiate specific instructional changeKnowledge and experience in closing the achievement gap using research and evidence-based instructionExperience evaluating instructional and support staff that will improve teaching and learningProficient use of student information systemsEvidence of ability to positively affect school culture and by creating an open, enthusiastic and well-organized teaching and learning environmentCollaborative leadership experience and in depth knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessmentExperience with restorative disciplineResponsibilities:Supporting and leading a culture of high expectations for both academics and behaviorInteracting with students in a constructive manner, encouraging each individual to perform at his/her highest levelMaintaining positive relations with parents, parent groups, school volunteers, business partners, and other related agenciesParticipating in district-wide and school-wide activitiesLeading and assisting the supervision of after school eventsDemonstrate skills and experience as an instructional leaderUnwavering commitment to advocate for the needs of all studentsConfidence in leading staff conversations around equity, unconscious bias and achievement gap data that results in classroom strategies with students to address these issuesEmbrace change, innovation, and ability to envision and actualize learning beyond the traditional walls of the classroom and the schoolWork with staff to analyze student achievement data and to improve instructionTeacher and Support Staff evaluationsReports To:Workday/Week:
