Trauma Burn Clinical Assistant Professor

The Section of Plastic Surgery and the Section of General Surgery at the University of Michigan is seeking a faculty member for a joint appointment with our burn and critical care teams at the Clinical Assistant Professor level. The University of Michigan Section of Plastic Surgery is a vibrant, growing practice currently with 20 clinical faculty members, five clinical fellows, three research faculty, 28 residents and a very large clinical volume (30,000 clinic visits and 4000 major operations per year). Michigan Medicine is an American College of Surgeons-verified Level 1 (adult and pediatric) Trauma Center, and also the state’s only American Burn Association-verified Burn Center for both adult and pediatric patients.The Division of Acute Care Surgery’s 12 faculty members provide care to nearly 5,000 patients and perform over 1,600 operations per year. They also direct the Surgical Intensive Care Unit as well as the Trauma-Burn Intensive Care Unit. The Burn Center is a busy adult and pediatric center with nearly 250 admissions, 450 ER visits, and over 1500 outpatient visits (including telehealth) per year. The burn faculty perform 350-400 operations per year and also participate in research, injury prevention, and community outreach.Website:

M.D., board certification/board eligibility in plastic surgery and surgical critical care/critical care medicine, successful completion of a fellowship in burn/critical care, and hold or have the ability to obtain a medical license in the State of Michigan.
