Your JobGeorgia-Pacific is now hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Leader to provide leadership and strategic direction at our Plattsburgh, NY facility. The EH&S Leader will accomplish this by building a partnership with front-line leadership and collaborating with business partners to develop and mentor the production team relating to EH&S. In this role, the EH&S Leader establishes and optimizes systems and processes to effectively address facility EHS risk profiles. The EH&S Leader role consists of an estimate of 80% Safety and 20% Environmental. Our culture is defined by the Principle Based Management philosophy which guides everyday decision making and provides employees with opportunities to contribute and personally benefit from the value they create.What You Will DoPartners with site leadership to influence all team members to embrace and achieve our Path to Zero Safety Strategy consistent with Koch's Safety VisionPartners with site leadership to ensure facility risk profile is reduced through development and implementation of key objectives, strategies targets and measuresResponsible for all systems and processes that manage EH&S risk at the facility (Compliance standards, compliance standard ownership model, Risk Management System, Hazard Identification and Risks Assessment (HIRA), Safety Improvement Planning, Safety Training, etc.)Effectively communicates facility safety vision, strategies, and performance to internal and external stakeholdersFoster an environment where employees understand and exercise their decision rights regarding EH&S ensuring the EH&S vision is developed and integratedFacilitate EH&S ownership by the line organization through integration of the EH&S Management SystemDrives continuous improvement using tools and activities, including self-assessments and audit processes; incident/near miss investigations; metrics and targets (leading and lagging indicators); and periodic reviews of performance, culture, and talentCoach, mentor and develop members of the safety team(s)Own and effectively manage the injury management and workers compensation processConduct routine management reviews and adjusting plans as necessaryWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial settingExperience using and applying safety management systemsExperience developing regulatory compliance programs and trainingExperience in occupational safety management and ability to apply and achieve resultsWhat Will Put You AheadBachelor's degree or higher in Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or EngineeringCertified Safety Professional (CSP)Our BenefitsOur goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
