Your JobGeorgia-Pacific, LLC is currently seeking a Process Risk/Process Safety Leader to join the Packaging and Cellulose (P&C) Safety Support Team, with primary focus on the Containerboard and Cellulose (C&C) facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to develop, guide and manage improvements related to both manufacturing process risk and process safety risk, both related to the paper manufacturing cycle and include managing the risks related to the manufacture and use of hazardous chemicals. This role will leverage resources efficiently and effectively across the P&C/C&C business based on need and will work directly with facility teams as well as partner with various capability teams, including critical asset, process safety, as well as business/division leaders to improve overall process risk/safety management.Our TeamThe Packaging and Cellulose Safety Support Team supports nine (9) pulp and paper mills and thirty-five (35) corrugated plants. We are looking for individuals who are contribution motivated, driven by the ability to add value to existing systems and processes, and make improvements. We are seeking employees with an entrepreneurial drive and willingness to challenge the status-quo to help drive transformational change.What You Will DoCollaborate/Partner with facility team members to understand their risk and help to identify or implement solutions to reduce and manage process/process safety risk.Collaborate with other capability teams and subject matter experts to develop and implement new and established, strategic and systematic process risk reduction improvements.Collaborate/Partner with specific groups focused on process risk and safety risk reduction, including the CSC Critical Asset team and the COE Process Safety team to advance innovative process risk reduction solutions.Advance innovation, optimization, and automation with passion, energy, and enthusiasm in the process risk and process safety space.Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to site process safety capability team members to improve overall knowledge of site personnel.Provide oversight and manage the application of internal Georgia-Pacific process safety and process risk standards/guidance.Stay current with industry trends to improve risk management and help the organization adapt to provide cost-effective risk reduction options and approaches for our facilities.Participate on occasion in process risk deep dives and lead process safety oversight, auditing, and process hazard analysis of PSM/RMP covered processes.Provide supervision to one or more process safety technical resources.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor's degree in Engineering.Seven (7) or more years of experience working in Engineering, Process Safety, or Technical/Operations role.Must travel approximately 50% of the time (role does not require relocation to the Atlanta area).What Will Put You AheadBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.Leadership experience within plant operations, technical, or mechanical integrity role.Understanding of manufacturing process/process safety risks as well as engineering solutions to help prevent and/or better control failure.Ability to demonstrate knowledge of how manufacturing processes work and basic equipment operation within the processes.Experience in application of process safety management (OSHA/EPA regulations/RAGAGEP/Mechanical Integrity).Experience and formal training in hazard analysis such as Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), PHA, or Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) Risk Assessment.Understanding/application of human and organizational performance within manufacturing/industry.For this role, we anticipate paying $120,000 - $200,000 per year.
