Your JobGeorgia-Pacific is seeking a Director of Safety and Health to join the Packaging and Cellulose (P&C) Safety Support Team, with primary focus on supporting the Containerboard business, but includes providing overall S&H support for the Containerboard and Cellulose businesses. The responsibilities of the role include developing and supporting strategic improvements including work to improve safety leadership and risk reduction efforts across the Containerboard operations with a focus on critical hazard risk reduction; influencing site leadership; and guiding the implementation of strategic safety and health plans across all sites which align with the overall business plans, objectives and strategies; partnering with key site stakeholders to reduce complexity, increase collaboration, share best practices, and improve organizational effectiveness. This position supports the Vice President of the Containerboard Operations and reports to the Sr. Director of Safety and Health for Cellulose and Containerboard. To learn more about Georgia-Pacific's packaging business please visit: www.gppackaging.com and view the video How Paper Is Made!What You Will DoPartner with the Vice Presidents' of our Containerboard Operations to align interests, clearly communicate expectations and foster an environment where safety is fully integrated into leadership and operations.Provide input on overall strategy and facilitate implementation of the Safety and Health strategic plan for the Containerboard business.Ensure all Containerboard sites and leadership are aligned with the strategic plan and are making good progress towards plan objectives, while providing additional support to sites that may need help in implementing strategies or achieving plan objectives.Facilitate continued learning and application of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) concepts aligned with our PBM philosophy across the Containerboard business, and work with other HOP Leaders, safety leaders, and mill leaders to develop a learning organization.Work with the overall P&C safety capability team and critical hazard risk reduction leaders to drive risk reduction across all critical hazards - work with sites to prioritize risks and to drive a consistent approach to the implementation of our path to zero plan.Leverage the use of disciplined operations to advance our safety strategies and improve our overall effectiveness and safety results.Facilitate the use of the GPs Save-my-Life/Start Work process in a way that helps facilitate better conversations around hazards and controls and drives value and alignment with implementation goals and objectives.Ensure the appropriate level of safety staffing at our Containerboard sites and improve the level of engagement and alignment among our leaders in a way that drives a better understanding of our key objectives and strategies.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Engineering.Five (5) or more years of experience leading Safety or Operations within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.Must travel 35% to 50% of the time.What Will Put You AheadExperience improving organizational effectiveness across multiple sites.Experience and knowledge in safety management systems and other mental models that help drive organizational effectiveness.Experience with human and organizational performance integration.Experience with implementing safety systems to improve how high-risk processes are safely managed, including lock tag verify, and line breaking/equipment opening.For this role, we anticipate paying $120,000 - $185,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
