1Job Description:Description:Prepare materials for and teach a wide range of courses in the Veterinary Technology Program. May include but not limited to, courses such as animal handling and clinical techniques for a wide range of species; health and disease courses for various species; diagnostic imaging and clinical pathology; pharmacology, surgical nursing, emergency medicine, anesthesia, and dentistry; visits to clinical practicum and internship sites. Emphasis on teaching excellence and student success, including service on College committees and projects.Prepares and delivers lectures to students on various topics in relation to a specific disciplineEvaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments and papersPrepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handoutsKeeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, speaking with colleagues and participating in professional conferencesMaintains student attendance records, grades and other required recordsInitiates, facilitates and moderates classroom discussionsAs needed, advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issuesPlans, evaluates and revises curricula, course content and course materials and methods of instructionCompiles, administers and grades examinationsCollaborates with colleagues to address teaching and research issuesMaintains regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist studentsSelects and obtains materials and supplies such as textbooks and laboratory equipmentServes on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, department matters and academic issuesParticipates in campus and community eventsRequired Qualifications:

Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD)Applicants must have obtained the professional degree from AVMA-accredited programCurrent licenses/registrations to practice veterinary medicine or veterinary technology in the State of Ohio or obtain the same within six (6) months of hireMinimum of three (3) years full-time demonstrated work experience in the field of veterinary medicineDemonstrated experience with relevant animal speciesTeaching experience in classroom or clinical settingDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (or equivalent)Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skillsLogic and reasoning skills to identify solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsSensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse populationPreferred Qualifications:

Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience and excellence at the post-secondary levelKnowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for studentsCommunity college teaching experienceSpecial Note:This is a full-time tenure track faculty opportunity. $55,901 with B.A. plus 30 semester hours (45 quarter credits) or M.A. degree; Education less than or more than stated will affect minimum salary. Salary reflects a 9-month contract period.Special Instructions to Applicants:
