New Orleans, LASummaryThe Executive Assistant to the Vice President provides advanced-level support to the Office of the President’s leadership team. The position provides backup support for the Senior Aide to the President and primary administrative support to the Vice President for University Relations. The executive assistant will maintain calendars, prepare for meetings, coordinate logistical arrangements, and work to ensure the daily functioning of the President’s Office, including serving as the initial point of contact for internal and external constituencies. This position will serve as the primary backup to the Senior Aide to the President in their absence.The Executive Assistant will also prepare for presidential engagements by developing event briefings, drafting communications, and providing high-level administrative support. This is a position requiring strong exercise of professional judgment, autonomous work effort, with independent decision-making and evaluation/implementation of methods to achieve work-related goals, objectives, and mission.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesHighly proficient computer skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc.)Excellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and resource management skills.Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks independently and meet established deadlines.Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.Required Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of directly related experienceORHigh School Diploma/Equivalent and eight (8) years of directly related experience.Preferred QualificationsMore than two (2) years of directly related experience in a higher education environment.Compensation InformationThis position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 26.
