Job Summary:
The Part-Time Worship Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating the worship services of the church. This includes selecting music, leading rehearsals, and guiding the congregation in worship. The Worship Leader will work closely with the Senior Pastor and other church leaders to create a cohesive and spiritually enriching worship experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Worship Planning and Leadership:
Plan and lead worship services, including selecting and arranging music that aligns with the church's mission and weekly sermon themes.
Lead the congregation in worship through singing and other forms of expression during services.
Develop and manage worship service schedules, including volunteer rotations and special events.
Team Coordination and Development:
Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technical team members.
Organize and lead regular rehearsals to ensure musical excellence and preparedness for services.
Foster a sense of community and spiritual growth within the worship team.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain the worship department budget, ensuring resources are used effectively.
Collaborate with church staff to integrate worship with other church activities and programs.
Oversee the maintenance of musical instruments, sound equipment, and other worship-related assets.
Spiritual Leadership:
Encourage and lead the worship team in spiritual development, including prayer and Bible study.
Model a lifestyle of worship and a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
Assist in providing pastoral care and support to the worship team/choir and congregation as needed.
Innovation and Creativity:
Explore and implement new worship styles and technologies to enhance the worship experience.
Plan and execute special worship events, such as holiday services, concerts, and community outreach events.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in music, worship arts, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Proven experience in leading worship and managing a worship team in a church setting.
Skills:
Proficient in vocal and instrumental music, strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to work well in a team.
Personal Attributes:
Strong Christian faith, excellent communication skills, and a passion for worship and ministry.
