Required qualifications are:PhD degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fieldExtensive research experience related to concrete materialsStrong track record in scientific contributions supported by peer-reviewed publicationsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsResponsibilities for the position include executing a USDOT project on developing an embedded sensor system (resistivity, humidity, temperature) to evaluate the quality and monitor the health of concrete. Additional responsibilities include leading the authorship of project reports and journal publications, contributing to other research projects, and assisting in the preparation of future research proposals. The position provides opportunities to collaborate with industry and academic R&D teams, to mentor one or more graduate students, and to present the research outcomes at scientific conferences.
