In addition, the company runs the award-winning Aspen Snowmass Ski & Snowboard School, Four Mountain Sports rental and retail shops, and a collection of sustainably sourced on-mountain food and beverage outlets. Aspen Snowmass encompasses 5,680 acres of skiable terrain across four mountains, more than 40 ski lifts and more than 410 trails.The Snowboard Pro for Aspen Snowmass will teach snowboarding to children and adults of all ability levels by focusing on the fundamentals of on-mountain safety and providing a safe and fun on-snow experience.This role typically pays between $28.95 and $56.00 per hour. Actual pay will be dependent on experience and lessons taught.Applications for this position will be accepted on a rolling basis.Essential Job FunctionsWork together with a team of Pros to organize classes and students according to individual student goals and abilities.Teach and demonstrate snowboarding to classes in a safe environment using a variety of teaching and riding techniques.Teach a variety of lessons, including instruction for beginners and clinics for more advanced class participants.Provide exceptional guest service while maintaining safety as a priority at all times.Work collaboratively with fellow employees and independently with groups of students.Minimum RequirementsMust be 18 years of age.Experience working with children is required.High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.Ability to snowboard, demonstrating maneuvers to students throughout the duration of a lesson for up to 6 hours per day required.Level 3 AASI Certification, or foreign equivalent, preferred.2000+ hours of documented teaching experience.Crossover certification and experience preferred.Supervision Given and ReceivedSupervision Given:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Supervision Received:
Works under general supervision of the Ski & Snowboard School Coordinator or Manager. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.Work Environment and Physical DemandsAbility to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time.Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.This position is classified as a part-time seasonal position eligible for the following benefits:Enrollment dates differ across the various programs.Paid Time Off Programs.Paid Leave Programs.Employee Ski Pass.Other company perks.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
