The English Department has a long history of providing students of diverse backgrounds with the chance to study composition, literature, rhetoric, and creative writing with a faculty dedicated to quality education and personalized support. Our faculty are expected to teach in the general education program and to be flexible in meeting the needs of the department. Lecturers primarily teach composition, although there are occasionally openings in literature, English Education, and creative writing courses.Duties of the Position

Teach three- or four-unit courses as assigned by the Department.Follow university syllabus policies.Hold office hours (typically 1 hour per 3-unit course).Typical courses assigned are English 101, Expository Writing and Analytical Reading, and English 100A/100B, First-Year Composition.Professional Qualifications

To be recommended for appointment, the candidate must have :- Masters or MFA in English, MFA or PhD in English or related fields- 2 years teaching experience demonstrating professional commitment to students.- For creative writing classes, an excellent publication record (preferably two volumes published with reputable presses).Rank and Salary

Full-time is a 15-unit workload per semester. Actual salary is dependent upon the number of units assigned, educational preparation, and availability of funds subject to any CSU system faculty contract salary increases.Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,530 - $6,056 per full-time month.How to Apply
