Job Summary
Research Assistant position for computational biochemistry calculations on G-Protein Coupled Receptors, as directed by Prof. William Goddard within the Materials and Process Simulation Center in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
Essential Job Duties
Use GROMACS for molecular dynamics (MD) and metadynamics (metaMD) computer calculations on G-Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs), as requested by the PI.Collaborate with Dr. Soo-Kyung Kim in determining the atomistic mechanism of activation and nature of binding site.Carry out in silico screening and R-Group optimization for activity and selectivity in collaboration with Dr. Soo-Kyung Kim.Present results in group discussions.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
BS in Chemistry, Physics, or Materials Science.Experience using GROMACS for molecular dynamics (MD) and metadynamics (metaMD) computer calculations on G-Protein Coupled Receptors.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Eagerness to learn and tackle challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
MS degree.Knowledge and strong interest in molecular dynamics and metaMD of GPCRs using GROMACS.

Hiring Range
$18.50 - $24.75 Per HourThe salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
