Job Summary

Health, Safety and Environment employees contribute to the success of the business by ensuring that all projects, products, and processes are managed through their life cycles to protect safety and health and minimize the impact on the environment.

Current internship positions are available in our Lower 48 organization depending upon your assignment either as a Wells, Production or Operations HSE Intern.

HSE Internships

The primary function of a HSE Summer Intern is to provide HSE support for an operational production location or wells location. Field-based activities may include conducting audits, participating in incident investigations, performing industrial hygiene or environmental monitoring, preparing HSE meeting material, participating in emergency response activities, and other duties as assigned.

Assignments will be at one of our sites located in Kenedy, or Midland, Texas, Dickinson, ND or Anchorage, Alaska. The typical length of our internships varies from 10-11 weeks based on the project and your work group.

Job Description

Responsibilities may include:

Implement action plans to drive a positive HSE culture and improve the quality and effectiveness of core HSE programs.

Provide field HSE support for designated events and projects as directed by your HSE supervisor.

Demonstrate a commitment to establishing and meeting HSE performance targets.

Understand and manage the hazards and risks associated with your role.

Evaluation of hazards, exposures, and general impacts associated with operation of process equipment and projects.

Completion of technical documentation and training for operations/field personnel.

Development and implementation of plans and procedures guiding regulatory compliance.

Preparation and submission of internal and external reports and related documentation.

Identification and qualification of outside resources and services.

Lead or participate in incident investigations and field audits.

Participate in emergency planning and response activities.

Basic/Required:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical field.

Current level in college: Sophomore through Graduate Student.

Expected graduation date: Fall 2025 through Spring/Fall 2027.

Available for internship start mid-late May 2025.

A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks’ availability for internship.

Ability to travel domestically 20% of the time.

Preferred:

Willing to work in specified locations.

A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Ability to generate effective solutions based on available information.

Develops strong relationships based on trust.
