The role will involve creating strong and meaningful partnerships with key community people and organisations. The intent of such partnerships being to achieve collaboration and increased community ownership. This position will be responsible for ensuring all programs within the Manager’s portfolio are delivered professionally and appropriately within the communities in which they are delivered. The role will include line management of staff across the Murraylands and Riverland regions.The Manager will be responsible for reporting to funding bodies and managing budgets. This role will have broader influence across communities looking to develop positive and effective relationships with First Nations organisations, representatives, key community members etc.This position requires Community Development expertise, including the ability to actively seek the voices (and collaboration) of community in the design and delivery of ideas and evaluate and report on the progress of initiatives.The role will be instrumental in supporting the organisation’s strategic plan and longer term strategic outlook, and will contribute further by undertaking the following responsibilities:Manage program portfolio, including the ongoing review of services for quality outcomes, preparing and delivering reports, supervising staff and working with funders.Undertake and collate research, consultation, mapping, data collection and analysis to support the design of initiatives and services.Drive a broad range of community led, place-based initiatives to create social impact.Engage local First Nations communities around the delivery of services (i.e. gathering feedback about the effectiveness of ac.care’s service delivery, developing opportunities for collaboration and seeking advice on service design).Directly manage Communities for Children, Community Connections and Berri Community Centre Programs.Provide supervision, development and direction to staff.Actively participate in Performance Review and Development program.Demonstrate financial acumen with the ability to manage and deliver on budgets.Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:Qualification of life, with an ability to work respectfully with and alongside First Nations people, their families and communities.Relevant tertiary qualifications in social science, social work, community development or relevant fields.Experience in design and development of community consultation tools.Experience in community development and engagement, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and other service providers in forging and maintaining strong partnerships.Experience in monitoring and evaluating service delivery to understand community needs and service gaps, to drive continual improvement.Self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and work independently, problem solving and making decisions within an organisational accountability framework and Strategic Plan.Highly developed written and verbal communication and negotiation skills (including the ability to resolve conflict and solve complex problems) with a range of people, including service users, families, and other key stakeholders.Highly RegardedExperience in community development/capacity building in partnership with First Nations peoples, families and communities.Demonstrated understanding of vulnerability and disadvantage in relation to children and families including the challenges and opportunities in delivering services to people with highly complex needs.Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.Demonstrated ability to apply outcome measurement strategies to create social impact.How to applyYou may apply through
