Senior Director of Development , you will, under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Philanthropy, provide leadership and direction to secure new and increased support from MCW alumni, Froedtert Hospital patients, community leaders, and other friends of the institutions.
The Senior Director works in concert with key clinicians, faculty, and researchers responsible for elevating the reputation and prominence of key initiatives at Froedtert Hospital and MCW, with the goal to identify, cultivate, and solicit donors for significant commitments of at least $100,000 and up to $2,000,000. The Senior Director works closely with Froedtert & MCW leadership, faculty, administrators, benefactors, and Board members to advance the implementation, structure, and connectivity across internal teams for each of these key initiatives. Provides leadership and management to a team of major gift fundraisers by fostering an environment of vulnerability and open communication, encouraging innovative thinking and problem-solving, and setting clear, achievable team goals to drive performance and motivation.
Responsibilities:
Understand and clearly articulate the mission and philanthropic priorities of the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital. Ensure effective stewardship of donor relationships.
Build and manage a portfolio of approximately 100 - 125 prospective benefactors and donors. Develop and execute strategies designed to realize the current and lifetime giving potential of prospective donors.
Provide high-level philanthropic staffing and management of the Deans of the School of Pharmacy and Graduate School, and Central Wisconsin and Green Bay Campuses.
Support benefactor engagement strategies to enhance connectivity of alumni to MCW and patients of Froedtert Hospital.
Establish deep relationships with MCW and Froedtert Hospital leaders and administrators to define and promote philanthropic priorities.
Participate in advancement activities and events, including dinners, receptions, and other fundraising initiatives during weekends and evenings as needed.
Review and ensure continued accuracy of portfolio in Raiser’s Edge. Record proposals and actions about prospects and donors in a timely fashion in database.
Accountable to annual individual performance goal metrics as well as strategic goals and objectives of department.
Support development of philanthropic strategies for key program priorities.
Cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset within the team to drive innovation and achieve fundraising success.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum education: Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum experience: 6 years experience as a seasoned fundraiser within a complex, higher capacity organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred education: Master's Degree
Preferred experience: 8 years experience in internet research, database query and reporting experience. Successful track record securing six-figure gifts.
