Job Description - Senior Recovery Coach (3305775)The Recovery Coach Team Lead will report to the Recovery Coach Program Manager and have a leadership role, providing support to a cohort of recovery coaches, especially around hiring, patient support, onboarding, and achieving the recovery coach certification. The successful candidate should possess thorough understanding of the process of recovery, the importance of community and culture to addressing the barriers to successful recovery, familiarity with the function and culture of primary care and other medical settings, and a broad awareness of community resources and treatment options including the pathways of recovery. The individual is a dynamic, self-starter with experience working as a recovery coach and a commitment to the profession. The Team Lead will have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated capacity to relate well with others across a wide spectrum of needs and responsibilities.What you will do:Conducting all brief (5-10 minute) pre-screens for RC candidates; qualifying appropriate candidates to then be interviewed by the Recovery Coach Program Manager.Providing onboarding support to new hires:Complete the onboarding check-listScheduling the onboarding activitiesShare in educating/training new hiresSupporting all recovery coaches through the CARC credentialing process:Including documentation of individual and group hoursKeeping track of educational requirements for CARCKeeping track of Continuing Education requirements for CARCAssistance with completing the application processTracking each recovery coach’s $200.00 budget for job performance and continuing educationProvide support and coordination around the Annual Recovery Coach Collaborative and RetreatsDevelop a strong understanding of Epic documentation requirements and provide training to existing or new recovery coaches as neededLead group supervision when Recovery Coach Program Manager is out of the officeAttend meetings on behalf of the Recovery Coach Team as neededFacilitate a group cohort meetingParticipate in and lead community recovery events throughout the yearSkills and abilities:Effective leadership skillsExperience in leadership rolesFosters positive work environmentExperience in a recovery coach roleAbility to prioritize and manage complex tasksA personal commitment to and compassion for patients with SUDsExperience in working in a multicultural environmentExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong analytic and computer skillsDemonstrated networking and partnership-building skills including experience working with diverse populationsMust be highly organized, motivated, and able to work well independently and in a team settingFamiliarity with harm reduction techniquesWhat you will need:Must have been in a recovery coach role full time for a minimum of 1 year, required, 2 years preferredHigh school diploma or GED requiredCARC preferredComplete BSAS recovery coach supervisors training within 3 months of hire requiredMassachusetts General Hospital is an Affirmative Action Employer.
