Job summary:

The Regional SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) Manager develops, coordinates, and implements occupational health policies, environmental compliance obligations, and sustainability objectives at two North America facilities to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization.

What you will do in this role:

Collaborates with leadership to develop, prepare, and implement EHS policies and procedures within a lean organizational structure.

Active member of the Regional Management Team – participating and contributing in leadership focused activities to ensure business success.

Maintains and manages the workers compensation program, OSHA safety logs, and other administrative requirements related to safety operations and regulations.

Directly manages the PSM (Process Safety Management) program at two facilities.

Serves as the Sustainability Leader at two sites to assist the organization in ensuring corporate emission and water reduction objectives are achieved.

Ensures appropriate applications, permits, data reports, records, and documentation are collected, prepared, submitted, and maintained as required by governing agencies.

Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.

Oversees the site’s emergency management plans; ensures related plans are optimized and effective; takes a key role in the development of the site’s business continuity plans.

Oversees the facility’s emergency response team to ensure adequate resources are available.

Provides technical and administrative support to the site leadership on SHE activities.

Manages the industrial hygiene program at both facilities.

Manages the radiation program to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.

Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.

Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.

Develops, implements, and performs EHS training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.

Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.

Assists in risk reduction on projects and onsite activities – including capex or any changes within the organization.

Manages, monitors, leads, and participates in incident investigations.

Develops, tracks, and shares key KPI’s related to all SHE activities to show focused improvement in appropriate areas.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

What qualifications and competencies you will need:

Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required.

10+ years of occupational health, safety and environmental compliance management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment required.

Working knowledge of Local, State, and Federal Regulations related to Facility, Building Codes, Fire Codes, Health & Safety, DOT, Radiation, Drinking Water, CFATS, Homeland Security, and other regulations applicable to the sites.

Environmental Regulations: Air Permitting, Hazardous & Non-hazardous Waste, SPCC, Stormwater/Wastewater Monitoring Requirements for Discharge to POTW and Navigable Waterways, Facility Response Plan, EPCRA (SARA 312/313), TSCA, LDAR, GHG Reporting, RCRA Corrective Action Permit, PCB Management.

Willingness and desire to be on the production floor to support employees and safety initiatives.

Must have excellent communication and written skills, across the functions of the business. This includes being able to speak one-on-one and in groups with hourly and management employees.

Must be highly organized and self-directed to proactively identify and address issues.

Must be able to bend down, stretch, walk long distances, climb stairs, ladders, and steps.

Must be able to stand for extended periods on hard surfaces such as concrete and lift heavy objects (weighing more than 10 pounds).

Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
