The School of Social Work at Wayne State University (WSU)in Detroit, Michigan is committed to community engaged practice within ourdynamic urban setting. We invite applications for one teaching facultyposition from outstanding candidates with exemplary teaching who add to thediverse, collaborative, and supportive environment within the SSW.

We are currently recruiting one outstandingcandidate interested in teaching on campus and who can effectively teachadvanced clinical practice courses and collaborate on school social worktraining grants or projects. The ideal candidate will have experience withculturally responsive advanced clinical practice and/or school socialwork (e.g., addressing mental health in schools, interventions, supportingsocio-emotional learning in schools, and addressing teacher burnout). Theposition requires a teaching load of seven courses per academic year (fall andwinter semesters). Otherresponsibilities include serving as a lead teacher and liaison to studentorganizations.Qualifications:

A doctorate earned in social work or related field (e.g. psychology, criminal justice, sociology). ABD applicants will be considered.An earned MSW is requiredAt least five years of professional post-MSW practice experienceA strong record of teaching experience and expertise in BSW and MSW curricular areasCommitment to and ability to teach within a social work curriculumExperience with curricular developmentWell-versed in using technology in education.Ability to engage students in the practical application of social work theory and practice from the classroom to the community.Interpersonal skills that facilitate communication and connection in diverse communities and disciplinesThe School of Social Work iscommitted to social justice and social work practice. We strongly encourage a ‘person in environment framework’

with a particular interest in race equity and attention to vulnerablepopulations.Applicantsshould be prepared to submit : a) a cover letter that explains your approach toinstructional delivery and classroom management, b) curriculum vitae, c) threereference letters, d) the names of all courses taught and teaching evaluations for the most recent twosemesters in which the candidate taught e) a diversity statement demonstrating how the applicant hasintegrated equity and social justiceinto teaching and service,and f) a link to a recording of you doing a 15-minute teaching demonstration.
