Job Description
The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for a Director of Player Athletic Development to direct the football sports science team that manages GPS units for practice and games. Responsibilities include managing and assisting in all sports science data collection for the Gators Football team; managing and assisting in the “return to play” for injured student-athletes; managing other tools that provide data for performance or to maintain player health (NordBord, ForceFrame, Force Plates, Catapult, etc); and oversight of the maintenance and budget for all sports science equipment. This posting will remain open until a qualified candidate is chosen.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field and five years of related experience training at a collegiate or professional level
OR
a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field and six years of related experience training at a collegiate or professional level
CPR/First Aid certified*
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) OR Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC)*
One year of leadership experience
Strong communication skills
Ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds and with high energy, intense personalities
Ability to work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
Experience working with GPS monitoring systems
Experience interpreting performance metrics
Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations
