As part of a major, multi-year initiative to expand research activities in Quantum Information Science across the IU Bloomington campus, the
College of Arts and Sciences
and the
Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering
invite applications for multiple tenure/tenure-track positions at the assistant or associate professor rank to begin in the Fall of 2025. This cycle of the search is particularly focused on applicants in chemistry, mathematics, computer science, and intelligent systems engineering.
We are particularly interested in researchers working in the areas of quantum information theory and experiment, simulation, sensing, and materials. Candidates who conduct research that complements our activities in atomic/molecular/optical physics, quantum simulations, quantum algorithms, quantum machine learning, materials chemistry, quantum algorithms for chemistry and condensed-matter physics, experimental and computational photonics, and ongoing efforts within the interdepartmental
Quantum Science & Engineering Center
and multi-institutional
Center for Quantum Technologies
will be given preference.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a PhD in Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics (or a related field) and be committed to excellence in scholarship and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Responsibilities:
Candidates are expected to sustain an active, externally funded research program, engage undergraduate and graduate students through effective teaching, and participate in service to the university and the profession. Candidates should be able to work effectively in a team environment. We especially welcome candidates whose demonstrated experience, research, teaching, and mentoring will support the university’s priorities related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
