POSITION TITLE:

Lecturer Pool – School of Nursing

POSITION DETAILS:The Sacramento State School of Nursing is one of the premier nursing programs in California. We have a welcoming and supportive faculty dedicated to supporting the education of a diverse student body and advancing the profession of nursing. The School of Nursing prepares nurses to lead diverse individuals, families, and communities in achieving optimal health through nursing science, collaborative practice, advocacy, and service.Areas include:

Medical Surgical (Fundamentals, Basic Med-Surg, Advanced Med-Surg, Critical Care), Mental Health, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Leadership and Management, Community Health, Public Health, & School Nursing. Especially needed are faculty with multiple specialties and those interested/qualified to teach mental health.Duties of a part-time lecturer include:

instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments, including dates, time, and modality, are made by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:For the traditional program, applicants must have a minimum of a BSN and 5 years RN practice with at least one year being in the last 5 years and in the area of specialty.For the RN-BSN or MSN programs, applicants must have a minimum of an MSN and 5 years RN practice.An unencumbered CA RN license.For the master’s program, advanced education in pharmacology, pathophysiology, assessment, health policy, nursing theory and/or school nursing is needed.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in nursing, or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program with a master’s degree in a health-related fieldTeaching experience and coursework in curriculum development at the graduate level is preferred.Experience/education teaching online coursesAbility to teach large classesMental Health and/or Community Health Nursing content, both clinical and didactic, at the master’s levelAPPLICANT INSTRUCTIONS:New applicants are required
