Provide biostatistical support on grant applicationsWork in close collaboration with faculty in the Health Sciences Division to develop predictive and prescriptive models from large, heterogeneous data sets, using statistical, machine learning, and other advanced data science methodsPerform data exploration of large data sets for hypothesis generation and knowledge discoverySupport applications for external funding, particularly developing and writing data science methodology in grant proposalsDevelop algorithms and software for health care analyticsProvide data science lectures and workshops for the Health Sciences DivisionQualifications
Minimum Education:
Doctorate in Data Science or related fieldExperience:Required:
3-5 years of experience as a biostatistician, data scientist; past experience as co-investigator on federally (NIH) funded projectsPreferred:
6-10 years of experience as a data scientistComputer Skills:
Proficiency with statistical packages such as SAS or RProficiency with a high-level programming language such as Python, Java, etc. preferredProficiency with modern data science tools such as Tensorflow, Keras, etc. preferredAdditional Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work well in multidisciplinary teamsHigh attention to detail, maintaining accuracy and consistencyAbility to plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple tasks and projectsApplication Process
