Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide biostatistical support on grant applications* Work in close collaboration with faculty in the Health Sciences Division to develop predictive and prescriptive models from large, heterogeneous data sets, using statistical, machine learning, and other advanced data science methods* Perform data exploration of large data sets for hypothesis generation and knowledge discovery* Support applications for external funding, in particular, developing and writing data science methodology in grant proposals* Develop algorithms and software for health care analytics* Provide data science lectures and workshops for the Health Sciences DivisionQualifications
Minimum Education:
Doctorate in Data Science or related fieldExperience:* Required: 3-5 years of experience as a biostatistician, data scientist; past experience as co-investigator on federally (NIH) funded projects* Preferred: 6-10 years of experience as a data scientistComputer Skills:* Proficiency with statistical packages such as SAS or R* Proficiency with a high-level programming language such as Python, Java, etc. preferred* Proficiency with modern data science tools such as Tensorflow, Keras, etc. preferredAdditional Qualifications
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams* High attention to detail, maintaining accuracy and consistency* Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple tasks and projectsApplication Instructions
